My work reflects the landscape and environment which I love: the mountains where I live, the many years that I spent at sea with my husband as a commercial fisherman, and the places I work and travel. Trained as a printmaker and graphic designer then later as a sculptor, my passion is to interpret my surroundings with sculpture, pastels, original prints, journal sketches and watercolors.
What inspired the artworks you submitted?
Owls intrigue me. Over the years I have used owls as my subjects in sculptures, drawings, and original prints. An encounter with Barn Owls last year inspired this piece.
What is your favorite art medium?
Sculpture and printmaking are the mediums that most engage me, but each of those require many studies with drawings, sketches and photographs to prepare for starting the final work.
