Kristina Sutherland is a director, playwright, actor, and teaching artist based in Seattle. She is the Director of Education at A Contemporary Theatre and the co-founder/Artistic Director of Macha Monkey Productions, a nonprofit dedicated to creating fearless, funny, female theatre. A teaching artist with over 12 years of experience, Kristina currently works as a teaching artist for both ACT Theatre's Young Playwright Program and Macha Monkey's Monkey Works Program. She is the author of several plays most recently THEBES and Franklin and Figaro. She has also co-created four plays with Desiree Prewitt: Nancy, Frank, and Joe (nominated for the American Theatre Critics Association Award 2009 and a Gregory Award for playwriting in 2010) The Cowgirl Play, R (The Swashbuckling Tale of Anne Bonny and Mary Read) and ELEKTRA.
