Musical Murals (7:30 PM - 9:30 PM)

Location:
Canyon Wren Recital Hall, Leavenworth

Description:
FEATURED WINERY: Wedge Mountain Winery, Peshastin

Program:

This season's opening concert highlights the work of American composers, specifically two living composers, who have drawn upon the world around them literally, for their art, be it through sculpture, as with Glenn's Sculpture Garden for Piano Quintet or through cultural or popular music styles as with Schoenfield's klezmer influenced Café Music or Antheil's intriguing Second Sonata, in which he puts the sections of contrasting music together like a Cubist painting by Picasso. Modern musical inventiveness at its finest marks this concert.

D. Glenn, Sculpture Garden for Piano Quintet

G. Antheil, Second Sonata for Violin, Piano, and Drums

P. Schoenfield, Café Music for Piano Trio

David Glenn, composer and jazz trombonist, Maria Sampen, violin; Tim Christie, viola; and the Icicle Creek Piano Trio

Advance tickets for sale through Brown Paper Tickets at www.brownpapertickets.com or toll-free 1-800-838-3006
