I wanted to share with you all a major change in leadership for our organization's Icicle Creek Youth Symphony. I am delighted to announce that the program, along with the Summer Symphony Program, will be led by Dan Jackson as Music Director and Conductor, whose work within the Wenatchee high school music program and our community's cultural profile will be well known to you all. His work with the public school system, Woods House Conservatory, Wenatchee PAC, and Wenatchee Valley College puts him at the center of our region in this arena, and we feel incredibly lucky and honored that he would decide to make his next professional association with Icicle Creek Music Center. We are also pleased to announce that Kara Hunnicutt will continue as conductor of the Academy Orchestra.
For all of you who worked so closely with Music Director and Conductor Jeremy Briggs Roberts, I know you'll join me with your warmest thanks and best wishes. While Jeremy is has made the decision to move on to new opportunities and an expanded role with the Washington Idaho Symphony in Pullman, his leadership and outstanding artistic contributions have made an indelible mark on Icicle Creek Music Center and to the young musicians in the Wenatchee Valley. I hope to find opportunities to work with him in the future, and certainly to support his contributions to other music organizations throughout Washington State. Jeremy's outstanding professionalism and high artistic ideals have set a bar for the organization that will continue to inspire and challenge us to excellence. Beyond that, I know that everyone at ICMC enjoyed working with Jeremy and wishes him the very best in his next adventures.
