Chris Stahler has always had an interest in classical music, and chamber music in particular. This is his second stint as a member of the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts Board of Directors. High points over the years include hearing Horowitz sitting on the stage 15 feet from the piano, Van Cliburn (his first concert after his Moscow triumph) and many evening with the NY Philhamonic under Leonard Bernstein, and finally the many great evenings at Canyon Wren Recital Hall. Since retiring from surgical practice, Stahler has devoted a great deal of time and energy to supporting the growing variety of programs now available here. As a transplant from the East Coast who enjoyed Tanglewood, he is happy to be part of bringing the performing arts to North Central Washington.
